Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MyBisayaTutor ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with:

• the MyBisayaTutor iOS mobile application (the "App"), and
• the website at mybisayatutor.com (the "Site"),

together referred to as the "Service." The Service is operated by Namore Studios LLC, a California limited liability company ("Namore Studios", "we", "us", or "our"), based in the United States.

We do not collect personal information from you. The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address, name, phone number, or payment information to use its features.

We do not knowingly collect or store any of the following:

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses
• Passwords or login credentials (there are no accounts)
• Payment cards or billing details
• Precise or approximate location data
• Contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data
• Voice recordings — the App does not record from your microphone
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA) for tracking purposes
• Cross-app or cross-site behavioral tracking

To make the App useful across sessions, certain data is saved only on your device (for example, in the App's local storage sandbox on iOS). This data is not transmitted to us or to any third party. It typically includes:

• Grammar lessons and quizzes you've completed
• Vocabulary state (which words are "learning" vs. "mastered")
• Recently viewed listening clips and stories
• Your chosen CEFR starting level (New / Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced / Passive)
• Your daily-goal target and streak counter
• Independent-study entries you log (Pro), including the name, duration, and date you enter
• Translator query cache (recent Bisaya ↔ English lookups)
• Appearance preferences (light/dark theme, playback settings)
• Subscription-related state derived from Apple's StoreKit (e.g. Pro entitlement, whether you have ever subscribed) — see Section 5.

You can clear this data at any time by tapping Reset all progress in the App's Settings, by clearing the App's storage in iOS Settings, or by uninstalling the App.

The App downloads Bisaya learning content — including graded listening clips (MP3), short stories, and native-media index files — from a content delivery network (CDN) hosted at mybisayatutor.com. When the App fetches this content, standard technical information (such as your device's IP address, user-agent, and a request timestamp) is visible to the CDN provider, purely to deliver the requested files. We do not use this information to identify you or build a profile, and we do not receive analytics reports tied to individual users.

Pro subscriptions are sold and processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit 2. We never see your payment card, Apple ID email, or billing address.

What the App reads from StoreKit and stores locally:

• Entitlement. Whether you currently have an active Pro subscription (monthly or yearly).
• Renewal date. The date your current subscription period ends, so we can display it in the Settings sheet.
• Original purchase date. The originalTransactionDateIOS value Apple returns — used to remember that you have ever subscribed across reinstalls, so the App can skip the paywall for returning subscribers.

This information is stored on-device and is not transmitted to our servers.

MyBisayaTutor does not embed third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services beyond what Apple provides at the platform level. However, some features involve third parties that operate under their own privacy policies:

Apple App Store & StoreKit

The App is distributed through, and subscriptions are billed through, the Apple App Store. Apple may collect information such as your Apple ID activity, download history, device identifiers, and (if you opt in) aggregated crash and usage diagnostics that Apple shares with developers in de-identified form. Apple's collection is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Built-in translator (Google Translate gateway)

When you use the in-app translator, the App sends the text you enter to a public Google Translate gateway to fetch a translation. The App does not attach your name, email, Apple ID, or device identifier to these requests. Google receives the request from your device's IP address like any other web request. Google's collection is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Recent queries are also cached on your device so you can look them up offline; you can clear the cache by resetting the App or clearing its storage in iOS Settings.

YouTube (native media library)

The native media library links to publicly available Bisaya videos hosted on YouTube; we do not host or re-upload them. When you open a video, YouTube (Google) may collect information as described in its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Content CDN

Listening clips, stories, and the media-library index are served over a standard CDN under the mybisayatutor.com domain. The CDN receives request metadata (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) to deliver the requested files. We do not use this metadata to identify individual users.

Ko-fi (optional donations)

The Site links to a Ko-fi page where you may voluntarily support development. We do not receive your payment card details. If you donate, Ko-fi and its payment processors handle the transaction under Ko-fi's Privacy Policy. Donations are not linked to a subscription and do not unlock Pro features.

Email (if you contact us)

If you email us at [email protected], your message and email address will be received and stored by Google (Gmail). We use those emails solely to respond to you and, if you have reported an issue, to fix it. We do not add contact emails to any marketing list.

Website hosting

The Site is a static site served through a standard web host/CDN. Web servers automatically process request metadata (such as IP address, user-agent, and timestamps) to deliver pages. We do not run analytics, cookies, or tracking pixels on the Site.

The Bisaya/Cebuano sentences, English translations, and spoken audio in the App are generated with the help of AI tools (OpenAI's language and text-to-speech models). Content is generated in advance by the developer and then bundled or served to the App via the CDN. The App does not send any information about you to OpenAI or any other AI provider at runtime. The only real-time third-party call the App makes is the built-in translator's request to the Google Translate gateway, described in Section 6.

The App is designed to be family-friendly and is suitable for language learners of all ages. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, we also do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Note: some linked YouTube content is provided by third parties and may not be age-appropriate for all children. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise use of externally linked video content.

Because we do not collect personal information on our servers, there is nothing there to delete about you. Data stored locally by the App remains on your device until you clear the App's storage, tap "Reset all progress" in Settings, or uninstall the App. Emails you send us are retained in our inbox until they are no longer needed. Subscription records at Apple are governed by Apple's own retention policies.

We take a data-minimization approach: the best way to protect your information is not to collect it in the first place. Content the App downloads is delivered over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but because we do not hold personal accounts or payment data, the impact of any incident on our side is intentionally minimal.

MyBisayaTutor is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., you understand that any technical information necessary to deliver content (such as IP-level request metadata to the CDN and to Google's translator gateway) may be processed in the United States or wherever our providers operate.

Data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) give you rights over personal information a business holds about you — including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.

Because we do not collect personal information from users of the App, we do not hold personal data that would be subject to these requests. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you believe you have submitted personal information to us (for example, by emailing us) and want to exercise a right, contact us and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect new features, new third-party services, or legal changes. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on the Site.
